🚫Don't say '비가 있다'
Have you ever said "비가 있다" in Korean? Many Korean learners commonly make this mistake.
So, what is the correct way to say it in Korean? 🤔💡
🔹 In Korean, we don’t say "비가 있다" (There is rain).
🔹 Instead, we say "비가 오다" (Rain is coming / It is raining).
📌 Why?
In English, "There is rain" is understandable, but in Korean, weather-related words (like rain, snow, and wind) are often expressed as an action rather than just existing.
"오다" means "to come," so "비가 오다" naturally describes the action of rain falling.
📌 Examples:
오늘 비가 와서 우산을 가져왔어요. (It’s raining today, so I brought an umbrella.)
어제는 하루 종일 비가 왔어요. (It rained all day yesterday.)
💡 Tip:
Similarly, we say "눈이 오다" (It is snowing) instead of "눈이 있다." 😊
