Hello, Korean learners! This is Hoorimi from BDB Korean. Spring is slowly approaching—how is everyone doing?
Recently, I’ve been receiving a lot of questions about the TOPIK exam. However, I’ve noticed that many students lack information about it, and explaining everything individually takes quite a bit of time. So, I thought it would be helpful to write and share this letter instead.
In this newsletter, rather than explaining everything from A to Z, I’ll introduce some useful websites where you can find general information about the TOPIK exam and access study materials.
1. TOPIK Official Website
WEBSITE LINK : https://www.topik.go.kr/TWMAIN/TWMAIN0010.do

The first website is the official TOPIK site. If you’ve decided to take the TOPIK exam, you might already be familiar with it. However, many people only hear about it from friends and don’t actually know what the test is, how it is structured, what the different levels mean, where to take the exam, or how to register for it.
If you visit the website and go to the "Test-specific information" tab, you’ll find a detailed explanation of the test. (The site also offers translation services in English and Chinese.)

Additionally, under the “Study TOPIK” tab, you can access past exam questions, try a basic-level test, and even watch free lectures on the official TOPIK YouTube channel. The website also offers a feature called "Today's TOPIK," where you can practice five free TOPIK questions every day—so don’t miss out and stay consistent with your studies!
2. TOPIK Guide
WEBSITE LINK : https://www.topikguide.com/

The second website is called ‘TOPIK Guide.’ This site offers both live and recorded lessons for a fee, but even without purchasing any courses, you can find plenty of useful study materials.
Under the "Articles" tab, you’ll find grammar explanations, vocabulary resources, and study tips specifically for the TOPIK exam. The grammar explanations are particularly well-structured, with various example sentences. When I was studying to become a Korean teacher, I often referred to this site whenever I found certain grammar points difficult to explain to students.

In addition, the site provides the latest information about TOPIK, including updates on scholarships and exam-related news. If you find it difficult to gather information on your own, I highly recommend checking this site regularly.
3. Koreantopik.com
WEBSITE LINK : https://www.koreantopik.com/

The third website I’d like to introduce is ‘koreantopik.com’ This site not only provides information about TOPIK but also about the KIIP (Korean Immigration and Integration Program). It also shares various practical tips for living in Korea, which can be especially useful for those residing in the country.

While the site offers paid lectures and books, it also provides study resources for those who prefer to self-study. The site features study blogs that cover past exam questions, grammar explanations, and vocabulary lists, making it easier for independent learners to organize their studies. The structured lesson outlines help guide your self-study process.
One downside is that the website contains a lot of advertisements, making it look a bit cluttered. However, if you navigate carefully, it remains a very useful resource.

These are three useful websites that can help you prepare for the TOPIK exam. I understand that not all students have access to a teacher, but don’t be discouraged! There are plenty of great resources available online, so keep going and stay motivated. I sincerely hope you achieve the score you’re aiming for.
I'm cheering for you—fighting! 💪
See you in the next newsletter! 😊
